Harley-Davidson cierra año con beneficios
Harley-Davidson de las pocas marcas de motos que cierra el año con beneficios.

El responsable de la marca afronta el futuro con la mente puesta en su producto estrella, tras el abandono de la producción de las ‘Buell’.
Una nueva directiva tomó las riendas del grupo estadounidense Harley-Davidson (H-D) este año para, entre otras razones, redireccionar un proyecto empresarial que pasa por su situación más delicada desde la década de los 80, cuando la firma estuvo a punto de desaparecer.
Los números de la marca aguantan, pero no van bien. El tercer trimestre cerró con una caída del 21,3% en las ventas (algo mejor que en los dos primeros trimestres) y los ingresos netos de la marca cayeron hasta los 26,5 millones de dólares frente a los 166,5 millones del mismo trimestre de 2008, lo que supone un descenso del 84,1%.
La primera víctima de esta nueva política ha sido Buell. El pasado 18 de diciembre Harley-Davidson decidió dar por finalizada la producción de su marca más deportiva tras 25 años de andadura. Muchos de sus 180 empleados han sido recolocados en la matriz, pero la mayoría del personal de fábrica abandonará la empresa por la vía de las jubilaciones anticipadas.
Josep Grañó, máximo responsable de la marca para España y Portugal, reconoce que la decisión no ha sido fácil y que la empresa afronta el futuro con la mente puesta en su producto estrella, las motocicletas Harley-Davidson.

Realmente es así, aunque las líneas estratégicas son las mismas. Esta nueva directiva (el 85% de los ejecutivos no estaban antes) da mucha más importancia al crecimiento internacional de Harley-Davidson (el 40% de las ventas globales en 2014 tienen que venir de los mercados internacionales), y que este crecimiento vendrá dado por un enfoque único en la marca H-D.

Harley Davidson Pink Label helps breast cancer group
Harley-Davidson is introducing a new clothing line supporting a breast cancer support center.
A portion of the proceeds from the sales the Harley-Davidson Pink Label Collection will fund the YourShoes 24/7 Support Center, a national toll-free hotline staffed by breast cancer survivors.
YourShoes gives those diagnosed with breast cancer a line of support with counselors who have gone through the same experiences. YourShoes is administered by the non-profit Breast Cancer Network of Strength, formerly known as the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.
“Having a strong support system is critical to surviving breast cancer,” says Margaret C. Kirk, president and chief executive officer of Breast Cancer Network of Strength. “That’s why we’re thrilled to have the support of Harley-Davidson, as well as their family of employees, dealers and owners. With their help, we can make sure no one faces this disease alone.”
The new Pink Label Collection was conceived and designed by the Harley-Davidson Women’s MotorClothes Product and Development and Design team.
